These labels contain the Programming code, User Code A and B, the Model number and the Serial number. There are two models of the Schlage Keypad Locks: the FE595 Keypad Entry with thumbturn, and the FE575 Keypad Entry with Auto-Lock Feature. The Schlage Keypad Locks are powered by a nine volt battery and fits a standard 161 door prep. The keypad illuminates when the Schlage button is pressed. The keypad is equipped with 11 silicon rubber buttons that are epoxy coated to resist wear and to protect the characters. An 11-button backlit keypad and an override lock cylinder are built into the escutcheon. The spindles are firmly attached without having noticeable free-play. The Schlage Keypad Locks have a solid appearance with a three-inch wide by almost seven inches lock exterior metal chassis and escutcheon. To simplify installation, the handed levers are reversible to accommodate left or right hand doors. To prevent unauthorized access, the Schlage Keypad Locks have vandal resistant clutching levers/knobs. These Grade 2 ANSI/BHMA certified leversets are equipped with a patented commercial grade clutching motor drive tested to 1 million cycles. Schlage is introducing their keypad locks for residential and light commercial applications. Secondly, keypad-operated electronic locks can enable entry without requiring a key that can be lost or forgotten. They are comfortable with pushing buttons on a key board or cell phone in order to do more than just type a letter or make a call. One reason is that children and teenagers especially, as well as many younger to middle age adults, are computer savvy.
