The Toxopid is the only Tier 5 unit that can be carried by the Quad, despite its overall area being larger than other Tier 5 units.

Toxopid currently has the largest number of legs on a unit, at eight. The Atrax and Arkyid are also named after spiders. Toxopid is named after the Toxopidae family of spiders, which are located in Australia and New Zealand.By that time, the opponent would have set up Foreshadows, meaning that a more agile and cheaper attacker is better - Construct Quads. In Group PvP, Toxopids can steamroll an area provided that enough time is given to manufacture a group. However, it is far less effective against enemy air units. Using Toxopid also helps take out any counterattacking waves, as they inflict the sapping status effect, severely increasing the damage taken and slowing enemies down as well. Swarming Foreshadows with blast-packed Zenith easily annihilates them, while the Omura and Corvus are also viable ways of attacking. Instead of a sapping laser, the Toxopid shoots out two Fuse-like purple projectiles out of its forward weapons, while the electric ball launcher previously on the Arkyid becomes more pronounced, splitting in a wider area. In custom attack maps, Toxopids should not be used in the presence of Foreshadow without the cover of the Oct. The Toxopid is a Tier 5 unit obtained by upgrading an Arkyid through the Tetrative Reconstructor. Some Toxopids are bound to die in the process from the explosion of the enemy core. When they are used, however, combine them with the Quad or Oct and drop them on the enemy core to take it out. In campaign, the Toxopid is generally outclassed by the Quad for attack, as manufacturing Tier 5 units is too time-consuming in the hardest enemy bases. The artillery attack of the Toxopid detonates first when it hits a block, then the small bomblets travel over blocks to explode further. Spam long-range turrets such as Foreshadow, Ripple or Hail with high tier ammo to destroy the Toxopid from a distance. Keep in mind that Toxopid can only be stalled using knockback. Pair the turrets with Water and Cryofluid Tsunamis The water ones boost the damage of surge ammo and push the toxopid away, while the cryofluid ones slow it down and make it take more damage. When facing multiple Toxopids, use Surge Alloy ammunition on Cyclones, as they have extremely high damage output. Foreshadow is one of the best turrets at this provided that there is enough empty space for the Toxopid to be sniped. Unlike the Reign or Corvus, it cannot be stalled with simple measures and must be taken down either at long range or with intense firepower. Toxopids are one of the most dangerous ground units.
