That command type buttons are worse than the number buttons. I came to believe that the IR sensor is too sensitive, That the DVR is worse than other STBs.

Oddly, a U-verse customer posted in this community that they had a NIles install that was not working & after they contacted Niles they did not get any satisfactory resolution. They said their new line of repeaters could handle it. makes IR repeaters & has a video on their web site showing the fragility of the IR coding that is used for U-verse & other boxes. But, one day long ago that just went away. My personal initial primary problem was getting the zero to register. The number of reports of this have totally fallen away. Remedies included taping over the IR sensor, hiding the STB, turning off auto brightness on the TV.Ī common fault was the info button press corrupting to an STB mute action. Going back 5-6 years there are many posts about IR interference. I do have the 2250 working with a smart control mini-blaster (hidden) & it works fine. If you want a good one - Logitech Harmony Smart control. If it is the U-verse model & you can return it do so. What is your RF remote? If you use it, the STB has to be hidden from ambient light. If it were me, I would try the tape listed below, or something similar.
It sounds like it is getting too much IR. Is it connected cat5? DVrs are best connected cat5. But, not to a more used TV, to a less used TV. Some say you have to keep replacing to find a good one. Is your DVR a 2250? There are posts indicating that these can be especially infuriating.

Was thinking of moving the dvr to the den as the tv is used more there than in the bedroom but would rather have a fix. I know its not a tv issue or anything but a dvr issue, one of my friends has uverse and it does the same thing to them.Īnyone else have this issue, or more importantly a fix for it?
It happens ALLOT, and its very frustrating. in the bedroom is a standard non dvr and this issue doesnt do it there. I bought a RF remote thinking it was an ir issue with the tv, still the same, actually the RF remote is horrible, delays, slow resposes etc. I can input channell 1875 and the dvr will get something like 1188 or 1877 or 1887. Not sure if this has been posted before, searching doesnt seem to yield any results or im not search the terms etc.Īnyway, the issue i have is when you push buttons on the remote the dvr recieves the input twice.įor example, i can press page up while in the guide, one time and the guide will flip twice.
